Bienvenidos a Barcelona!

We made it from Boston to Barcelona after a long flight with some exciting turbulence. Once we arrived at the airport, we were greeted by our tour guide named Clive. He hails from London but has lived in Barcelona since 1975. From the airport we didn't waste anytime as we boarded our bus and headed to catch our first glimpse of the city. We saw Montjuic which is translated to "jewish mountain" and is known to be the largest burial ground in the area. From there we headed to view the Olympic Stadium. The stadium was built for the 1932 Olympic games but due to the civil war, the games had to be relocated to Berlin. The 1992 Olympic games were held there. From the stadium we headed the National Art Museum and then to the Port of Barcelona for some lunch. The team split up into small groups and walked through the shops and cafes. Of course we had a coffee from Starbucks!! This evening we checked in to our hotel in Lloret de Mar and enjoyed our first team dinner in Spain! It is off to bed for the team to catch up on some sleep and prepare for a morning training session and our first match.
